Journey Counseling and Community Services (Journey CCS) embarked on its mission in 2018, aiming to a commitment to improve the welfare of the community through service accessibility, education/ skill building, resource linkage, and improving family relationships. Founded by Jerwanna C. Clay, a compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker- Board Approved Clinical Supervisor (LCSW-BACS), Journey CCS started as a private practice delivering individual, family, and group therapy. The overwhelming community and client support quickly filled the practice to capacity.
Drawing from her own personal and professional challenges, Mrs. Clay sought to extend a beacon of hope to others, assuring them they’re not alone in their struggles. With support, dignity, and respect to each person served, Journey CCS will empower clients in their “Journey through Life” to improve their quality of life and self-efficacy. Recognizing a gap in evidence-based services in Tangipahoa Parish and surrounding area, she envisioned an opportunity to expand into a Behavioral Health Agency. With the dedication and assistance of staff and stakeholders, Journey CCS obtained licensure as a Behavioral Health Service Provider under the Louisiana Department of Health.
Though Journey CCS may be small in size, our commitment to community education and service shines through our vision. We’re here to light the way and offer support at every turn of your journey.
